Creative Marketing...Durex

Just received this from a dear friend of mine, Joyce (thanks for sharing this with me!). Hot from the oven...The first few moments when I saw this ad, I didn't quite understand it (ok.. ok..I'm slow...). It was after scanning it a few times that I could finally grasp the 'meaning' of this ad.

It's amazing how these creative advertisers can put the message 'Look people, that's what happens if you don't use DUREX!!' in such a subtle manner.

One group of people whom I really admire are advertisers...people who use creative ideas to come up with such amazingly creative ads which not only gets the message across, but manages to do it in a fun and powerful way. The reason why I say it's powerful is because these advertisers are able to 'embed' the real meaning of their idea into their ads...forcing you to try to understand and comprehend the meaning of the ad...and just when you least expect it, the true meaning of the ad pops up...and you burst into laughter....And the effect of all this is that it creates a powerful, lasting impression in your mind. The next time you see the brand 'DUREX' it immediately triggers the joyful experience you've had and this, I believe would greatly influence your purchasing decision (I'm not only talking about DUREX....this is true for other brands also....so, for ladies who dont buy DUREX, the effects of creative ads probably affects your decision when you buy products like...mascara, lipstick, clothings..etc). I'd like to call this the 'Creative Idea-Embedding Process' in Marketing and Advertising. Whoever embeds a more powerful message into the consumers' / buyers' mind WINs!!

All this goes to show that Creativity plays a major role in determining your success or the success of your organization in this fast paced, ever changing and forever forward-moving world.

Any comments? Would love to hear from you, my beloved readers...
